One beer doesn't make you "intoxicated".
Particularly if it's an American beer.

As a worker would I want intoxicated co-workers to be operating machinery around me? As a consumer would I want to buy a vehicle assembled by an intoxicated worker? As their union - these workers need help - get them the help they need before something bad happens!

The joke that unions have become... No wonder people are buying vehicles that were assembled in non-union plants...

Definitely wont ever buy another Chrysler product! I like how their on lunch break, but the UAW states they were "Off Duty". I've never worked anywhere that taking a lunch break and then going back to work was considered off duty other then for pay! If something were to happen to you on your lunch break you were covered by workers comp and if you did something inappropriate you could be reprimanded for it by your boss!

Why buy ANY car built by Union workers? The same problems persist at all locations I am certain. Unions exist to keep union members paying dues to keep union revenues high enough to pay union execs salaries.
"Nuf Said... unless you are really stupid or a union member... ooops, same difference...

It is another reason I would never buy a Chrysler, and it is another reason we taxpayers should have let them go bankrupt.

And you then wonder why there are somethings in your new car that don't work and should for a long time. I wonder if any of those employees worked on breaks, engines, fuel lines, chassi assembly, and etc. I'm sure they can go back to see who may have worked on those items if there was ever a death claim made due to the failure of any of those same items. : (

Back in the day, not too many years ago, every brewery in Milwaukee offered free beers at lunch to their workers.
Nope, not right in terms of employee productivity or safety, but fun while it lasted. Even the brewery's learned the hard way.

Nobody of substance is jealous of people making much more than they are worth. Unions and proponents have always tried to make people believe that higher wages were part and parcel of union benefits. This has never been true.
Unions did help to improve working condiditons long ago, but now only work for the benefit and longevity of the Union at the expense of ALL else.
I have worked within and outside of the Union (Afl-Cio-AEIU - They are all connected, sort of like organized crime in the 1940's) and my experience is that, they only support the weakest link, only want your "dues" and will not support you if you do not support the "correct" political party.
Just my experience, but I am sure it rings true to many other people. I am also sure that those who feel "entitled" will bay at the moon about how I am wrong or even accuse me of being a liar. So be it. They will only provide the proof of what I suggest will happen and know what is true.

When buying a car/SUV/pickup there are many choices that are non-union American made. My best friend bought a Toyota Tacoma pickup, made in San Antonio, which is not a place in Japan. He is happy.

Crap runs downhill. What do you think is going on in the executive offices? Seems to me there must be a culture of loose behavior in the company and it usually starts at the top.
So, look at upper management. Who's doing who and who don't even care anymore.
A little weed and beer on lunch might just be a symptom of far more serious deeds going on at Chrysler.

"Buy American made... that is non-union American made."
@sillywagon
It is just really hard to buy American. Most everything not made locally is imported and cheaper. That is to say, most of us can't afford most of what is made in the US that is actually of any quality. Not that there is still much of that available anyway.

@Flognut,
In my limited direct experience with unions, they promoted from the ranks. So, it never surprised me that union reps were just as, if not more, lazy than the worst union member.
I suspect the same is still true. Entitlement Mentality.

When I worked at GM we had many hard working UAW members. It was the union leaders who were among the the laziest people I ever met. I guess that's why the union bosses fight so hard for the lazy workers. Before they became the union bosses they were the lazy workers!

"Their cases ended up in arbitration and the arbitrator sided with the fired workers. They came back to work this week."
This isn't right! Companies should be able to fire them & the Unions should not be able to get in the way when they are drinking beer & smoking pot on the job. The Unions need to lose their power control over American businesses.

@MAcDad614,
What does this have to do with unions and "buying American"?
Doesn't buying American, 1. ensure safety? 2. ensure quality, absolutely 3. ensure longevity, more certainly No.
And to add to that, what qualifies as "Buying American". If you mean "Union made", then you fail immediately. I have worked with and around union "workers" and know how lazy they are. Not to mention how their attitude is about quality. Non-existent. The paycheck is all that matters to them. Thus, why I call it the "entitlement mentality".
That is why your hit at my moniker doesn't bother me. I understand you had to take a hit at my name, because you had no other ammunition.
CrappieFool may seem like a moniker of shame to you, but I wear it shamelessly and with honor in all of my posts.
Too bad you can't do the same for yours.

Years ago I worked at a union shop where a worker clocked but did not show up at his work station, the supervisor checked his time card and was clocked in so they waited by the time clock and watched him clock out so they fired him and the union threaten to strike if he was not rehired.

So did they work on the brakes, wheel lugs,gas pedal or the air bags???
Maybe we should all get high tomorrow at work, then call the UAW for a job... Who cares about everyone on the roads with, who only knows how many of these cars, new/used??? I would bet they have be doing that for a long time, and maybe kin to the UAW boss???
If Chrysler and the UAW want them back on the job, thats on them... I will never buy another Chrysler new or used, I will not risk my family safety, under the rights of workers to drink, get stoned...

The name says it all: CrappieFool.
Buy American made products when you can and when you are not paying more than the product is worth.
Chinese made junk seems as though it has been designed to poison us, our children and our pets. If you don't know what those products are, just search for harmful Chinese products. Here is a partial list.
• Counterfeit Chinese made vehicle air bags that do not protect the vehicle's occupants in a crash.
• Toothpaste imported from China was recalled because it might contain diethylene glycol (DEG), a chemical used in antifreeze that is dangerous if consumed by humans.
• Thomas & Friends trains and accessories were recalled after learning that the red and yellow paint used to decorate more than 1.5 million of the toys contained lead.
• Contaminated pet food containing the harmful chemical, melamine, has been blamed for the deaths of thousands of cats and dogs in the United States.
• FDA rejected shipments of catfish, eel, shrimp and tilapia imported from China because they contained contaminants such as as salmonella, veterinary drugs, and nitrofuran, a cancer-causing chemical.
• U.S. transportation officials insisted that importer Foreign Tire Sales of Union, N.J., recall up to 450,000 Chinese-made light truck tires.
• Contamination in dried chicken that is being sold as treats for dogs. Never mind the choking hazard of this type of product that will not go down a dog's esophagus unless it is thoroughly chewed first- something most dogs do not do.
• Lead in paint used in the manufacture of children's jewelry.
• Drywall that will corrode the plumbing in the walls and which emits toxic fumes that sicken people.
